The Opportunity:

The Mattel Global Security Team is currently seeking to hire a Security Shift Supervisor/Leader for their Montreal site. The role will act as Security point of contact for assigned shift, support the Security Officers on their assigned shift, complete special tasks/projects assigned by Security Site Supervisor, as well as performing standard Security Officer duties.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Enforce Mattel Global Security Department Best Practices and adhere to US Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) program recommendations. This includes protecting the organization\xe2\x80\x99s physical property, assets, and personnel from theft, damage, harm, unlawful activities, etc.
  • Perform administrative data entry duties as assigned by post order standards (i.e. Guardhouse, Employee Entrance, Rover Patrol, Building Entrance, Satellite Site Patrol).
  • Coordinates the work of the Security Officers in the performance of security and related tasks, as set forth in the Contingency Operations and S.O.P. manuals, under the supervision of the Security Supervisor. Responsible for contacting Security Supervisor as required during emergency situations or as security issues arise during assigned shift and completing Incident Reports.
  • Enforcing Mattel\xe2\x80\x99s Intellectual Property, privacy and confidentiality with the utmost protection.
  • Completes security duties and related tasks as set forth in the Contingency Operations and SOP manuals under the direction of the Security Leader and Security Supervisor.
  • Responsible for protecting the organization\xe2\x80\x99s physical property, assets, and personnel from theft, damage, harm, unlawful activities, etc.
  • Responsible for contacting Security Supervisor and/or Facilities personnel, as required, during emergency situations or as security issues arise.
  • Coordinates traffic control; visitor registration; and directing suppliers, contractors, and delivery persons; answers phones.
  • Completes mobile and foot patrols to monitor the campus for security and facilities related issues.
  • Monitors the access control system, CCTV system, and the guard tour management system.
  • Monitors the fire control panel for alarms and any problems with equipment. Reports any service/maintenance issues to Facilities personnel.
  • Supports training of security officers; coaches and directs personnel in the security function and is skilled in the duties and responsibilities of the group directed.
  • Supports Security Site Supervisor in evaluating officer performance.
  • Overtime may be required on short notice.
  • Responds to fire/first aid emergencies and facilitates process.

Qualifications:
  • One+ years of Security, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, Law Enforcement or military background preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED, required.
  • One+ years in a people management role, preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
  • Must have a valid Security License, (where required).
  • Certification in First- Aid, CPR, and Blood-borne Pathogens, preferred (annual training provided).
  • Must be able to work varying shifts including 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts; holiday\xe2\x80\x99s and weekends (as needed).
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business policies, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members and assigned personnel to meet team training and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret information provided to complete assigned tasks and projects.
  • Retaining and implementing knowledge of all applicable Standard Operating Procedures, demonstrating responsible and dependable behavior, and is open to change and adapts to new information or unexpected obstacles.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals including detailed incident reports writing.
  • Display exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Solid basic math skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer, tablet and Smart Phone knowledge \xe2\x80\x93 (Microsoft suite, internet, mobile applications and email).
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to rotate shifts based on business need. Must be able to work weekends and overtime, as required.
  • Outdoor post assignments may require an individual to withstand extreme heat, humidity, cold, and/or severe weather (e.g. snow, sleet, rain, hail, wind).
  • Ability to use post security equipment (handheld and walk-thru metal detectors, hand held radios, access control systems, CCTV).
  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Attend and participate in all mandatory training to meet requirements, maintain job-competence, and succeed in professional development.
  • Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.
