Key responsibilities:
The site Shift Lead(s) is responsible for the oversight of the operations of the team, in conjunction with the needs of the site, and will:
Shift Lead will assist with the scheduling, checking payroll and training of their staff.
Staff is to be directed by the Shift Lead to be attired professionally and, in a manner, consistent with Paladin's policies on dress and deportment.
Daily paperwork would include advanced reports are completed, sign in sheets, overtime has been checked and authorized, shift swaps are authorized and documented for approval, incident reports documented and written properly.
Develop the security program and the security's team performance through coaching, process improvement, discipline, etc.
Shift Lead will ensure that there is no time loss on site ever. No open shifts. This involves beginning shift at early time when need, ending shift at later time when needed, and being flexible with scheduled hours to accommodate the site's needs.
Participate in the morning safety huddles so that they are aware of any potential safety risks including any service restrictions.
Maintain control of the front door, ensuring that it is closed/locked at all times and prevent access from any unauthorized individual (guests with a service restriction).
Monitor the entrance and courtyard, remaining vigilant for any behaviors/actions that pose potential safety risk.
Keep the front porch/reception area clear except when Guests are accessing services in the area.
Ensure that Guests are checking in any bags at Reception Desk
Assist TGP staff in de-escalating situations when requested by TGP staff.
Assist in Code Responses as required.
Monitor Guests in isolation, ensuring that they are not leaving the area unaccompanied.
Complete safe walks with staff as requested.
Maintain appropriate boundaries with Guests as above.
Prerequisites:
Clean letter of conduct and Vulnerable sector check* Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor)
Valid class 5 driver license
English (oral and written) fluency is a must
Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
