Overview

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Security Programs Manager (SPM) is responsible for managing a variety of functions within Paladin\xe2\x80\x99s security portfolio. This includes however not limited to; working in collaboration with the Client Service Managers (CSM) to manage the security teams that function within the security portfolio\xe2\x80\x99s as well as the TrackTik and OHS programs. The Security Programs Manager will regularly meet with the Director of Operations and security staff to ensure that all expectations are met.

Job Skills / Requirements

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop and maintain an excellent internal relationship with the Director of Operations, Client Service Manager(s), Portfolio Resource Coordinators (PRC) and Scheduling personnel

2. Maintains a high level of dress and deportment.

3. Ensures all staff within his/her purview has adequate training based on industry, corporate and client standards.

4. Provides motivational and disciplinary discussions with all staff assigned within the portfolio as needed.

5. Ensures all sites have up to date and complete Site Orders both in hard copy on site and in digital copy on the network server and TrackTik.

6. Performs evaluations of staff assigned to sites on an as needed basis and in accordance with company policies.

7. Is responsible for the site OH&S Program being completely compliant with all applicable regulations.

8. Ensures that TrackTik is functioning properly at all sites. Including staff assignment and creating innovative solutions for client requests.

9. Ensures that Site Training and Employee Orientation programs are in place at all sites within the portfolio and that all newly assigned staff demonstrates competence on site.

10. Ensures that there are adequate numbers of trained security staff to meet all of Paladin\xe2\x80\x99s contractual obligations within the portfolio of business.

11. Develops and maintains frequent security evaluations of client facilities and ensures appropriate recommendations are made to Client Service Manager so that clients\xe2\x80\x99 security needs are being met.

12. Communicates appropriate information to Operations / Zone Supervisors as needed to ensure that any outstanding issues are dealt with in a timely fashion.

13. Monitors Incident Reports and takes appropriate action on the reports that are related to sites within the portfolio.

14. Remains on-call to act as an after-hours resource for emergencies.

15. Reports regularly to Director of Operations/Client Service Manager(s) on matters of company or client interest or significant events.

16. Promotes Paladin\xe2\x80\x99s business in a professional and positive manner.

17. Ensures that all services provided by staff assigned within the portfolio are delivered in accordance with the client\xe2\x80\x99s wishes and best interests, and in accordance with Paladin\xe2\x80\x99s Code of Ethics.

18. Responds to communications from clients or staff in a timely manner.

19. Performs other duties as requested to assist with corporate and/or branch needs.

20. Hold and maintain a valid security license.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

  • The successful applicant will preferably have experience in a supervisory, managerial or recruiting capacity, or a combination of relevant experience and education.
  • A diploma in Security Management, Criminology or related discipline would be an asset.
  • Must hold a valid Alberta security Licence
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to lead, plan, organize, delegate and problem solve.
  • Ability to effectively supervise.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, including delivering presentations to groups.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Ability to function effectively in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism in all situations.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
Education Requirements (Any)

High School Diploma/GED
