We are currently seeking a
Security Operations Centre (SOC) Operator
to join our growing team. This position plays a key role in real-time monitoring, incident response, and intelligence support across Blackmark's client portfolio.
Position Summary
The
SOC Operator
is responsible for 24/7 monitoring and management of physical security systems (CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection), identifying potential threats or incidents, and coordinating timely responses. The role also includes supporting the
Intelligence Desk
through open-source intelligence (OSINT) monitoring, global threat awareness, and data-driven reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and manage security systems including CCTV, access control, and alarm platforms across multiple client sites.
Identify, assess, and escalate security alerts, alarms, and potential threats in real time.
Dispatch mobile response teams, coordinate with field security operatives, and liaise with law enforcement as required.
Maintain communication logs and create accurate incident and activity reports.
Conduct open-source and social media monitoring to identify emerging threats or risks.
Contribute to the development of daily intelligence summaries and situational awareness reports.
Perform routine system checks and ensure SOC technologies are functioning properly.
Follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs), escalation protocols, and emergency response workflows.
Support continuous improvement by participating in SOC drills, briefings, and after-action reviews.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
2-5 years of experience in a SOC, GSOC, control room, or command centre environment.
Proficiency with physical security technologies (CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, VMS systems).
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and incident management software.
Availability for shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred:
Experience with systems such as Genetec, Avigilon, LenelS2, Brivo, Milestone, SureView, Hivewatch, Verkada or similar.
Knowledge of OSINT tools, threat monitoring, and intelligence analysis methods.
Background in corporate security, law enforcement, military, or emergency operations.
Post-secondary education in Security Management, Criminology, Intelligence Studies, or a related field.
