Job Description

Job purpose: The Security Guard is responsible for managing on-premise security detail. The ideal candidate will have recently demonstrated experience in responding to emergency situations as requested and taking steps to deescalate while minimizing Auxly liability and optimizing staff, product and site safety. Duties and responsibilities

• Protect Auxly Leamington staff and inventory by maintaining a safe & secure environment
• Monitoring of the Security Management System (SMS) (video surveillance, intrusion and access controls).
• Act as a first responder to security and first-aid incidents including facility alarms.
• Follow Auxly Leamington established policies and protocols to ensure regulatory compliance including recording disturbances.
• Monitor Auxly Leamington facility access to prevent unauthorized trespasses on Company property.
• Ensure strict adherence to all provincial, federal and Health Canada (HC) protocols and guidelines of Ontario and Security and Investigative Services Act.
• Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
• Strong knowledge of Security procedures and protocols
• Monitor vehicles coming and going from the facility and recognizing the vehicles and who they may belong to.
• Take note/accounts of any unusual occurrences and make notes.
• Maintain a log of visitors/guests.
• Report writing/being able to complete a daily activity report during shift.
• Perimeter inspections-entrances/exits.

Qualifications

• Must have Basic Security Training License/valid Security Workers License along with a valid Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level II and CPR certification.
• 1-3 years of experience in a Security role in a manufacturing or regulated organization.
• Attention to detail in all areas of security operations.
• Previously demonstrated conflict management and quick decision-making skills in an escalated situation to effectively deescalate.
• Ability to remain calm in high stress situations to follow and give directions.
• Recent and proven ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Applications and a working knowledge of security management systems and applicable operational programs, including access controls, intrusion systems, and video surveillance systems would be an asset.
• Must posses a Glass G Driver?s License for exterior patrols around the facility. Also, responsible for regular patrols within the facility as well.

Working conditions: This position requires flexibility for irregular/weekend hours within a highly-regulated horticultural environment. Physical requirements: With or without reasonable accommodation, the physical and mental requirements of this role may include the following: seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly. Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain. Additional physical requirements may include, frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs.
