We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Security Officer to conduct front-line security and safety services with excellent customer service in order to protect employees, facilities, assets and visitors to OLG corporate centers.

YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME

Reporting to the Manager Corporate Security, you will be empowered to:

Patrol OLG space identifying irregularities, security issues, equipment deficiencies and safety hazards to ensure consistent safety of OLG employees and facilities; Prevent losses and damage through proactive patrols, investigating and reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures, issuing warnings and or trespass notices; Screens unauthorized persons and may be required to escort offenders and trespassers from OLG properties or perform lawfully arrests of individuals as per the Criminal Code of Canada and or the Trespass to Property Act.

Work with Corporate Facilities Management to identify and address safety hazards, building property issues and facility issues

Conduct weekend, statutory holidays and afterhours patrols and alarm response at other OLG locations within the GTA (as required).

Manage, control, and monitor visitor and employee access by utilizing strict access control principles and technology.

Program access cards or visitor tags to employees, contractors, consultants, and guests based on requirement, job function and service request; Conduct routine audits of access privileges ensuring individuals are provided the correct access, time zone and activity while deactivating access cards based on defined procedures.

Review and monitor CCTV platforms, documenting and investigating irregularities and retaining video if required for further investigation purposes.

Detect, investigate, and respond to possible breaches of security, criminal code violations, fire and safety hazards, unauthorized entry, theft, and malfunction or interruption of utilities, systems, or equipment.

Create reports of daily activities and irregularities; maintain daily logs and a duty book; Conduct investigations, detailing information including witness and or suspect statements and preservation of evidence to ensure security/safety investigations and issues are promptly addressed.

Ability to communicate effectively and to make sound decisions in all situations.

Perform Chief Fire Warden duties and ensure evacuation teams are coordinated and prepared in the event of an incident; Ensure emergency plans are available, issued to the evacuation team and posted in the designated locations; Participate and coordinate mandatory evacuation drills, meetings, testing and follow up activities.

Provide primary response to emergency and non-emergency situations and to ensure all security and safety concerns are addressed and managed; Manage physical threats against OLG property and personnel and respond to requests for assistance from other business units; Utilize the public address system to alert employees of emergencies occurring on or near property that may impact operations I.e., lockdown notice; Informs proper authorities in the event of a security, life safety emergency and activates alarms as required.

Render First Aid and CPR including the use of an automated external defibrillator, Oxygen administration and the deployment of symptom relief medication (if required) in accordance with the OLG Emergency Medical Response program.

Conduct security audits and assessments providing advice to enhance physical security or identify irregularities within policy and procedure.

Coordinate, oversee and confirm the collection and destruction of confidential and business sensitive material to ensure proper disposal of sensitive information.

Assist the Security Manager in the development of site-specific policies and procedures to provide and enhance Security at OLG locations.

Conduct cross-monitor activities via CCTV and Access Control for OLG locations to maintain security and safety as required.

Conduct escorts of trades, visitor or other individuals authorized to be on OLG space.

Conduct verification of major ticket winners using the appropriate system; Assist customers in initiating claim forms completion and providing general information to customers; Provide oversight for the various daily and evening draws utilizing CCTV.

Provide superior customer service to all employees, guests, and visitors to OLG properties answering questions, responding to requests, and investigating complaints and/or property related incidents.

Responsible for issuing, tracking, and maintaining a strict key control program identifying spares, issued, damaged, and destroyed.

Perform back-up shipping and receiving duties as required.

Comply with all applicable requirements within the AGCO standards and OLG directives.

Ability to work all scheduled shifts including rotating shifts, day and nights shifts, weekends and holidays.

WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY

Work Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a Security Officer role in a Corporate or Office environment.

Education: University or College Degree/Diploma in Law or Security Administration or related field is preferred. Current certification in Standard First Aid, Accredited training in de-escalation techniques and use of force requirements including handcuffing. Familiar with security technology including access control, CCTV, and incident management systems.
