Job description \xe2\x80\x93 Security Officers Hotel & Casino Our Team is Growing! We\xe2\x80\x99re currently looking for Security Officers, to join one of the best teams in Calgary! Working at Deerfoot Inn & Casino you will gain valuable crime prevention knowledge and experience in a unique and exciting environment that will further prepare you for a career in law enforcement. The successful candidate will provide Security and protection services to Calgary\xe2\x80\x99s finest entertainment venue, responsible for our Two four-star hotels, 60,000 square foot casino, banquet centre, entertainment showroom, restaurants, pubs, and parking areas for the safety of patrons, staff, and protection of assets and gaming activities. Security Officers are required to enforce age/access provisions within the casino, conduct patrols, perform customer assistance, respond to emergencies and medical calls, enforce the Trespass to Premises Act and Criminal Code, and liaise with Calgary Police, Fire and EMS. Strong report writing skills are essential, as well as being able to communicate clearly in English is required. The Successful candidates will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education in criminology or suitable combination of education and experience an asset
  • Clear Calgary Police / RCMP Security Clearance \xe2\x80\x93 No Criminal Convictions or pending charges within the court system.
  • Minimum 2+ years of Security Experience Required. Recent Casino or Peace Officer experience preferred within Canada or an International Location.
  • AGLC Certificates including AML, Deal Us in Casino Staff Training (Phase 1 & 2), ProTect & ProServe will be required prior to start.
  • Defence Tactics Threat Pattern Recognition (Formerly PPCT), Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training, and/or Handcuffing training preferred
  • Candidates must be physically fit and able to preform all duties/patrols required within the site.
  • Must have a minimum Valid Standard First Aid/CPR-C & AED or higher Certifications/Training.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office & Other windows-based programs
  • Strong Communication skills are required as candidates must be able to fully communicate in English verbally and in writing.
  • Possess a high level of honesty and integrity
  • Adherence to high standards, methods, and procedures
  • Knowledge of AGLC Policies & Procedures is a bonus
  • Ability to work in a team environment
Candidates are required to be able and willing, to work all shifts within the team. This can include Nights (Overnights), Days, Weekends & Holidays as we are a 24/7/365 operation.
