Job Description

Checking the bags of customers who have set off an alarm when leaving the store. Receipt checks. Quickly responding to incidents within minutes of them occurring. Meeting and greeting customers who come to the store. Acting as a visual deterrent. Locking and unlocking the premises at the start and end of the day. Carrying out internal and external patrols. Being a visible security contact for customers and staff. Informing violators of policy and procedures. Deterring anti-social behavior, theft and criminal activity. Liaising with the police and law enforcement authorities. Assisting Loss Prevention staff, with the apprehension of shoplifters. Dealing with any emergencies as they arise. Controlling entry to the premises. Controlling traffic in the store car park. Writing reports up about any disturbances that may have occurred. Setting alarm systems before locking up the premises late at night. Reporting directly to the Loss Prevention Manager. Room for advancement. Note: this is hybrid Security LP position, evenings and weeks are a must, an open availability is considered an asset. Use of Force Training is considered an asset. Winnipeg Police Service, Shop Theft Protocol Certification is considered an asset. Minimum 1 year in an LP or Security role is a must. Sunday & Monday availability is a must!
