Position:
Temporary Full Time - Snow Patrol (Star Date: ASAP - End date: April 15, 2026)
Site:
Milton District Hospital, 725 Bronte St. S, Milton, ON L9T 9K1
Conduct routine patrols of hospital grounds, including parking areas, walkways, entrances, exits, hallways, and patient/public areas.
Monitor for winter hazards, such as snow and ice buildup; report or coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure timely removal.
Assist visitors and staff with winter-related issues, including vehicle assistance or navigating slippery areas.
Operate security cameras and alarm systems; report suspicious or unusual activity to appropriate personnel or authorities.
Monitor and secure access points, ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.
Respond swiftly to emergencies, including medical situations, fire alarms, and security incidents.
Provide a professional and supportive presence; greet and assist patients, visitors, and hospital staff with directions or information.
De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure a calm, professional atmosphere.
Accurately document incidents, daily activity logs, and any breaches or safety concerns.
Collaborate with hospital personnel and law enforcement during critical events or investigations.
Ensure compliance with hospital visitor and patient policies, addressing violations appropriately.
Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards
Requirements:
A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
Proficient in English (both oral and written)
Degree in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigations, Criminology, or Border Services would be an asset
Previous one year experience in healthcare security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
Proof of double Covid Vaccination
Immunization Record (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and TB skin tests 1 and 2)
Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certification
Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions for extended periods as part of your regular duties
Able to provide a clean shaven face in order to pass a N95 mask fit test
Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
Legally authorized to work in Canada
Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
