JOB DESCRIPTION \xc2\xb7 Ensuring the safety and security of people, assets & property \xc2\xb7 Coordinating students, staff, and faculty during emergencies \xc2\xb7 Responding to emergencies and maintaining access control \xc2\xb7 Calling and liaising with the public emergency services during an emergency \xc2\xb7 Interacting with students, visitors, and the general public \xc2\xb7 Detecting, monitoring and displacing unwanted individual(s) \xc2\xb7 Parking enforcement and assistance \xc2\xb7 Securing restricted areas \xc2\xb7 Opening and closing campus as needed \xc2\xb7 Being physically capable of performing required duties \xc2\xb7 Knowledge and use of integrated security systems \xc2\xb7 Conducting interior and exterior patrols of campus \xc2\xb7 Ensuring smoking areas are properly utilized and enforced \xc2\xb7 Enforcing property laws, and Alpha College rules and protocol \xc2\xb7 Providing excellent customer service \xc2\xb7 Preventing fire, theft & vandalism with vigilance \xc2\xb7 Inspecting fire equipment, ensuring all access points are free of obstacles. \xc2\xb7 Writing daily and incident reports. \xc2\xb7 All other duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS \xc2\xb7 Valid Ontario Security Guard License \xc2\xb7 Valid Standard First Aid & CPR certifications \xc2\xb7 High school diploma or equivalent \xc2\xb7 Full availability including days, afternoons, nights, and weekends. \xc2\xb7 Prior security experience in a higher education institution is an asset and is preferred. \xc2\xb7 Security reliability clearance \xc2\xb7 Leadership and problem-solving skills \xc2\xb7 Proactive, self-starter, attention to detail, and a team player. \xc2\xb7 Excellent English written and oral communication skills. \xc2\xb7 Driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and access to a vehicle (preferred but not a requirement) ABOUT ALPHA COLLEGE Alpha College is partnered with the St. Lawrence College to allow international students to take advantage of the opportunity to live and study in Toronto.
