Overview

A day in the life of a Safe Harbour Security Guard:

While every day will be different, you can expect to perform the following tasks in this role:

• Provide support to Safe Harbour visitors and employees, while maintaining safety and security of the overall site.
• Respond to requests for assistance, often providing the first response to emergency situations.
• Document and report all incidents.
• Provide access control in/out of the facility, as well as within restricted areas of the facility.
• Monitor and respond to incidents identified around property, including on cameras.
• Conduct patrols of the facility, monitoring for risks such as unlocked doors, blocked entrances/exits, mechanical issues, hazardous materials, and general security breaches.
• Respond to alarms and emergency calls for assistance.
• Investigate and report any irregularities that are identified through the course of your duties.

In order to be eligible for this position, you must have open availability (no prior commitments). This is required in order to work 4 on, 4 off rotations (alternating day and night shifts).

The starting rate for this position is $21.96/hour. Full-time employees are eligible for inclusion in our comprehensive benefits program after 6 months.

The role of a Security Professional at Safe Harbour can be both physically and emotionally demanding. Security Professionals are responsible for providing support, empathy, customer service, and public safety to not only Safe Harbour employees, but also visitors, clients, and patients. This dynamic environment can be both enjoyable and exciting, but also stressful. Our industry-leading management team provides 24-hour support for our employees, with an emphasis on proactively minimizing risks and responding to incidents with real-time guidance.

• You have open availability and are willing to work both day and night shifts, on 4 on, 4 off rotations. Typical rotations involve working 2 rotations of days, followed by 2 rotations of nights.
• You hold a valid AB Security license or are willing to obtain one prior to commencing work with Paladin Security.
