Position: Parking Guard

Site: St. Clair College - Parking

City: Windsor

Status: Full-Time

Hours: Monday to Thursday (0700-1530)

Pay Rate: $17.63/hour

Site Description:

In this role, you will be responsible for patrolling the parking lot; on foot and with a security vehicle during all types of weather, issuing parking tickets as necessary; assist students, provide access control. You will be responsible for issuing parking permits, dealing with cash, credit card/debit. The successful candidate must be physically fit. Effective communication and the ability to diffuse difficult or emotional situations will be essential. Respond to emergency situations as they arise.

Please note, students currently enrolled with St. Clair College are not eligible to apply to this position.

Requirements:

• Must possess Ontario Security Guard License.

• Must possess valid First Aid & CPR \xe2\x80\x93 Level C

• Valid G Class Ontario Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License & Clean Drivers Abstract
• Proficient in English, both written and oral
• Must pass Vulnerable Sector Check
• Proof of double COVID-19 Vaccination
• Post-Secondary education in law enforcement from a recognized institution or equivalent experience.
• Physical Demands include excessive walking and standing.
• Patrol area on foot and vehicle as assigned, to ensure personal, building, and equipment security.
• Utilize radio and computer applications for communicating site activities.
• Watch for and report irregularities by completing incident reports, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contact emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, as required.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Must possess excellent computer skills.
• Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

• Must have not been removed from a St. Clair College site

Certification Requirements (All)

Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
Valid Ontario Security License
