Security Guard Industrial Plant
Position: Security Guard Site: Industrial Plant City: Sarnia, ON Status: Full-Time Hours: 1800-0600 rotating shift schedule Pay Rate: $18.00/hr.

Position Overview: Reporting to the Sarnia Branch, the Security Guard is accountable for the access, security and safety of the site.
Essential Job Functions:

• Provide security services at this location, maintaining order and the protection of property and employees onsite.
• Provide customer service as the first point of contact on a busy industrial site.
• Maintain professionalism, confidence, and confidentiality.
• Opening and closing gates as required by the site.
• Monitoring gate arms and access/egress control for site personnel and visitors.
• Responsible for monitoring site cameras.
• Conducts site specific training and maintains records.
• Maintain records of personnel entering and leaving the site.
• Administration and reception duties, forwarding incoming calls to appropriate personnel.
• Photocopying and preparing documents to be used by day shift.
• Responsible for monitoring computer system and creating swipe cards.
• Monitor email correspondence.
• Prepare reports in a timely manner.
• Responsible for head counts for emergencies.
• Communicate between Site Leads in the event of an emergency.
• Monitor CVECO radio.
• Monitor and communicate severe weather (humidex, lightening).
• Participate in monthly training and quarterly staff meetings.
• Miscellaneous duties as required.

Requirements:

• Must possess Ontario Security Guard License.
• Experience in industrial security an asset.
• Ability to function in a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy.

• Sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders and provide specialized security services by enforcing rules and regulations when required.
• Moderate physical activities related to tasks and duties.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Experience as a security guard on an industrial site.
• Site interview.

At the time of the interview applicant must be able to produce proof of completion of the following prerequisites:

• Immunization Record
• Full Covid Vaccine
• A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Proficient in English (both oral and written)

Successful completion of the following requirements provided by Paladin are mandatory prior to placement:

• Emergency First Aid & CPR

• Additional courses as assigned
