Description Barber Collins security is looking for a full time afternoon Security Guard to work at a food processing shipping facility during the week and weekends. Shifts* *Shifts have a mandatory 2-week rotation

• 3 pm - 11 pm
• Must be available during the week and every second weekend
• Full time hours

Responsibilities:

• Protect company\xe2\x80\x99s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
• Must be confident with computer technology and utilizing the different software established.
• Must be able to be crossed trained and understanding the multiple skills and responsibilities of each position.
• Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
• Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
• Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
• Access control for the facility/area.
• Ensuring that the facility\xe2\x80\x99s safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to site emergencies.
• Demonstrating judgement, common sense, and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents.

Skills:

• Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
• Trained Security Guard with a diploma in a related field.
• Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
• Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
• Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
• Integrity and professionalism.
• Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones.
• Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills.
