We provide flexible scheduling to work within your availability, and provide 24/7 operational support to all of our field staff while on shift - the safety of our team members is our top priority. Job Details: JTF Security is accepting applications for Security Guard positions dedicated to Community Outreach Programs within the Comox Valley area! These community outreach programs consist of supportive housing initiatives, as well as warming and cooling center programs. This is an amazing opportunity for individuals who are looking to become more involved in their community. We are looking to fill these positions with passionate and reliable security guards that possess the following abilities:

• Critical thinking and problem solving
• Ability to maintain positive client and public relations
• Can work independently or as a member of a team
• Good understanding of legal guidelines for area security and public safety
• Basic experience with report writing
• Strong observation skills
• Good time-management skills
• Amazing interpersonal and communication skills

As some of these programs operate seasonally (as well as year round), JTF Security can offer both year-round and seasonal employment opportunities for candidates seeking full-time, part-time, and casual employment. All JTF Security Guards are required to hold a valid British Columbia Security License, have access to a smartphone with data while on shift, and be capable of standing or walking for extended periods of time (when required). JTF Security can assist in providing the information needed to becoming a Professional Security Worker within the province of BC. In order to obtain a Security Workers License, candidates must complete the Basic Security Training (BST) course offered by the Justice Institute of BC (JIBC), which is a 40 hour course available online: https://www.jibc.ca/areas-of-study/security/basic-security-training-bst Start working with us as a Professional Security Worker while completing your BST! Still need to complete your BST course? That\xe2\x80\x99s OK! JTF Security has positions for candidates holding a Security Guard Under Supervision License. This specialized license allows for you to work and train as a security guard prior to completing your BST course. This license is valid for 90 days, and allows for you to take your BST course and obtain your BC Security Workers License while still allowing you to work and train as a security guard.
