Hours: Various - 1900-0700
Pay Rate: $21.27/hour

Note: This position is "as needed" to cover absences, vacations, etc. We do not guarantee minimum hours while employed as a casual security guard. Candidates must be flexible in their overnight availability and be able to pick up shifts short notice.

• Proactive & reactive security patrols
• Response to incidents
• Surveillance monitoring
• Patient watches
• Verbal de-escalation
• Report writing
• Investigate routine incidents
• Parking and smoking enforcement/by-laws
• Policy awareness and enforcement
• Additional Duties as Assigned

Qualifications:

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C Certificate
• Proof of (minimum) double COVID-19 vaccinations (international or domestic proof is acceptable)
• A copy of your immunization records (vaccinations from birth)

• Must show immunity for: Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella (Chicken Pox), and TB Skin Tests 1 & 2
• Should a candidate be missing a vaccine, they must be willing to get the missing compliance within 30 days of employment
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)

• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin\'s UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
• Must be able to attend 4 days of in-class training in Kingston + 2 days of virtual training during the week (Mon-Fri) - 0900-1700
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and flexible environment while maintaining the utmost professionalism
• Able to work alone
• Moderate physical activity, standing and walking for long periods of time
• Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and customer service orientation
• Remain calm and effectively perform in emergency situations
• Adhere to our Code of Ethics in performing job requirements
• Able to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, French considered an asset.
• Reliable transportation to and from site
• Experience Preferred:

• 1 year of healthcare security experience, or 2 years of commercial security experience
• 1 year of customer service experience
• Demonstrated experience in verbal de-escalation
• Demonstrated experience in a Use of Force environment/performing physical interventions in a security setting
