  • Obtain Company Security Officer (CSO) and Designated Official (DO) certification.
  • Conduct controlled goods security assessments of employees, managers and executives.
  • Initiate screening requests and carrying out security screening as required.
  • Conduct preliminary background checks as required.
  • Submit requests for termination of clearances.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth and current knowledge of trade compliance programs (Controlled Goods Program, Canadian Export Controls, EAR, ITAR).
  • Prepare compliance documentation to meet company and legislative requirement.
  • Ensure compliance throughout the organization while following import and export procedures in accordance with government regulations.
  • Ensure there is no unauthorized access to confidential and restricted data.
  • Maintain relationships with domestic and foreign government agencies.
  • Safeguard employee security screening files in accordance with the relevant Privacy legislations.
  • Prepare and conduct internal compliance and security training.
  • Conduct security inspections at regular intervals to ensure correct compliance.
  • Prepare, conduct and execute internal and external compliance investigations and audits.
  • Research security requirements of various countries as required.
  • Manage and report compliance and security risks to management.
  • Problem solve and implement creative solutions to business challenges as they arise.
  • Develop internal standards and processes for export and security.
  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
What will you need to be successful?
  • Previous Company Security Officer (CSO) and/or Designated Official (DO) certification.
  • Experience with trade compliance programs (Controlled Goods Program, Canadian Export Controls, EAR, ITAR).
  • Must be very comfortable working in SharePoint environment.
  • Experience in the government or military sector is an asset.
  • Demonstrated problem resolution and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change, work under pressure, and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Fluent in written and verbal English with excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Experienced in report writing and development.
  • Have a good working knowledge of primary computer software programs necessary to complete position objectives (i.e. MS Office products).

  • Risk Management Specialist- Reports on risk concerns and develops responses and best practices to ensure the organization is prepared for associated risks.
Working conditions for this role?
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and work outside normal working hours to accommodate time differences.
  • Willingness to travel and work from different locations as required.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of job location.
  • Eligible to obtain security clearance.
