Security Associate Port Perry, ON | Full TimePOSITION SCOPEIn the role of Security Associate, you are responsible for guarding and protecting our premises, assets and personnel. You will maintain a high visibility presence and prevent all illegal or inappropriate actions. You will also be the first point of contact for visitors, temporary workers, or suppliers to the Port Perry campus and will be greeting people, recording their visit, asking COVID screening questions, and providing direction based on the purpose of their visit.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Conduct internal/external security foot patrols of the building and outdoor grow premises
• Safeguarding against fire and safety hazards
• Respond to Emergencies
• Control access to the indoor and outdoor grow facility
• Report incidents - following SOP/Security Orders
• Liaise with Durham Regional Police Service as necessary and provide documentation
• Document Security infractions
• Answer telephone and provide general information and assistance
• Greet visitors to the Campus upon arrival, sign them in/out
• Issue, receive and log keys
• Ensure that COVID screening questions are asked to all site visitors upon arrival
• Conduct routine searches
• Backup for on call site emergencies
• Conduct minor maintenance functions as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned

ROLE REQUIREMENTS/ABILITIESExperience / Education

• Must hold a current Ontario Security Guard/Private Investigator License through the Ministry of Community Safety and Security
• Diploma in Protective Service and Investigations and/or Community Justices Services
• Clear criminal record and must be able to obtain a Health Canada/RCMP security clearance

Skills & Abilities

• Understanding of a Licensed Producer (LP) for Medical Cannabis and the ACMPR per Health Canada
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Fluent English language skills

Physical Demands

• Mostly desk work with a mixture of standing and walking and some light lifting.

Working Environment

• Indoors and outdoors.
• Will be subject to all elements of weather
• Office setting and outdoor setting while doing foot patrols
