Security Architect
Overview
We are looking for an experienced Security Architect for a 36-month opportunity: a 12-month initial contract with two options for 1-year extensions.
This is a full-time, onsite position requiring the candidate to be located in the Regina, Saskatchewan area for the duration of the contract.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Security Architect, you will play a critical role in designing and maintaining a secure technology environment. Your responsibilities will include:
Security Design & Architecture:
Review infrastructure and application designs to ensure adherence to security guidelines and standards.
Collaborate with architectural teams and vendors to define security requirements and ensure the secure integration of Endpoint, Network, and Cloud solutions.
Analyze data/information assets to ensure they are properly identified, stewarded, and leveraged while balancing the need for security, performance, and accessibility.
Provide security advisory on emerging and existing technology platforms.
Lead and support the upgrade and renewal of critical information environments.
Redesign government's critical infrastructure as required.
Risk & Strategy:
Analyze the current security environment to detect deficiencies and recommend practical solutions for improvement.
Analyze emerging technologies, security industry best practices, and market trends to determine their potential impact and suggest actionable strategies.
Proactively advise on security risk mitigation.
Ensure all identified risks are addressed, and security solutions comply with organizational, regulatory, and legislative requirements.
Provide aid and support to Security Risk, Governance, Compliance, and Operations functions.
Consultation & Partnership:
Partner with Solution Architects to evaluate and select hardware, software, and technology solutions, including the design of standard software and solution configurations.
Be responsive and decisive in adjusting architecture based on changing customer requirements, market conditions, and evolving technology.
What You Must Have
Senior IT Architect Experience:
Demonstrated experience with a variety of technical engagements at a senior level as an IT Architect.
Experience serving as the lead architect or in charge of a major subsystem.
All engagements must have been performed using a formal IT methodology and within a standard framework for information security controls.
Technical Expertise & Methodology:
Demonstrated experience working within and possessing an in-depth knowledge of an industry-standard information security framework such as ISO 27001 or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience with DevSecOps operations and automation that support enterprise products and services development and deployment.
Proven experience with multiple architecture methodologies and the ability to compare and contrast them.
Formal training in a recognized IT design methodology and hands-on experience implementing that methodology on a design engagement.
Certification (A significant asset):
Achievement of an Architecture related certification such as TOGAF, SABSA, or similar industry recognized certification is a definite asset.
