You bring strong research, investigative, and problem-solving skills to support the detection, response, and resolution of IT security incidents. You have:




Completion of post-secondary education in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (specialization in cybersecurity is a plus) 3 years of experience in IT and/or cybersecurity environments Experience with vulnerability scanning, threat detection, and defense against common cyber-attacks Experience using SIEM and log analysis tools for security monitoring and incident detection Knowledge of IT infrastructure, application, network best practices and emerging trends Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and IT Infrastructure including endpoint, network, and cloud security Scripting experience in encryption standards/techniques, and scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell for automated tasks Strong research, problem solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot system issues



Nice to have:




Work experience related to SSCP, Security+, CISSP, CEH and OSCP Practical understanding of agile methodology



What you will do:




Provide first level security support including detection of issues, incident response, remediation and prevention occurrence measures Examine and investigate alerts, resolve configuration errors in the network or deployed software and create/update IT security documents Escalate significant IT security issues and comply with incident response process including taking systems/devices offline to safeguard MPAC assets as directed Assist external agencies in security testing ensuring reports are accurate and complete Monitor and report on all IT security platforms, dashboards and systems and maintain application and system log, providing data analytics to senior team members and manager Support business systems while adhering to security standards and practices in place as well as research new forms of best practices and provide analysis Aid in the development and maintenance of KPI dashboards and security metric reports and conduct security vulnerability scans Utilize scripting languages to design and implement automated repetitive security tasks
