About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, this position is responsible for a wide variety of secretarial duties and functions within Mental Health & Addictions. These duties include, but are not limited to, work in the following areas: reception and telephone, computer applications, typing and transcription, staff support, program support, management support, client and community contacts, documentation and records management, research support, and general office duties. This position serves Mental Health and Addictions Outpatient Services.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Graduate of a recognized post-secondary secretarial or office administration certificate or diploma program required
  • One year recent experience required
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, internet and email and a working knowledge of office equipment required
  • Knowledge and prior experience in use of SAP software and Meditech (including community wide scheduling applications) required
  • Knowledge of Mental Health and Addictions programs and services within the local community, the Northern Zone, as well as within the province is considered an asset
  • Must possess interpersonal rapport and skills to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients and community at large
  • Must possess considerable organizational skills necessary to ensure effective time management of office operations, and the meeting of deadlines
  • Experience with Dictaphone and transcription required
  • Effective verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills (communicates in a respectful, honest and genuine manner)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (ability to put others at ease, uses skills and genuine interest in others to build respectful trusting relationships)
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize (balances multiple duties, distinguishes between urgent/non-urgent priorities, updates team members on progress)
  • Team player and cooperative (proactively offers assistance to team when needed, supports team\'s purpose and acts to positively influence team results)
  • High degree of professionalism as to offer reception services to individuals from all areas of society with a variety of problems and challenges and from diverse cultures
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
A Skills test may be conducted as a component of the selection process to assess technical and job specific knowledge

Compensation and Incentives

$24.69 - $27.53 Hourly
