The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.Position OverviewUnder the direction of the Manager - Volunteer Services, and the Administrative Assistant, the incumbent provides secretarial support to the operation of Volunteer Services related to recruitment, screening, orientation placement, evaluation and recognition of volunteers. Types a variety of material and maintains the volunteer management information database.Experience

  • Two years related office experience required.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment an asset.
  • Experience working with volunteers and as a volunteer would be an asset.
  • Experience working with special needs and multicultural populations preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized secretarial training course required.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certification/Licensure/RegistrationNot ApplicableQualifications and Skills
  • Database knowledge preferred.
  • Must be a team player with outstanding interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle a diverse workload in a busy environment.
  • Typing 50 wpm required.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent interruptions.
  • Contact with staff, volunteers, patients, and the public.
  • Occasionally, may be required to work extended hours for events (i.e. volunteer recognition events).
