Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Seasonal Tax Provision Preparer to support our year-end tax provision process across U.S. and Canadian entities, including consolidation under IFRS. This is a recurring seasonal role running from January through May each year.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in U.S. and Canadian corporate income tax provisions, hands-on experience with consolidated reporting, and a deep understanding of IFRS tax accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review year-end income tax provisions for U.S. and Canadian entities in accordance with IFRS.
Assist in the preparation of consolidated tax provision reports, including effective tax rate analysis, current and deferred tax calculations, and footnote disclosures.
Collaborate with internal Finance, Tax, and external audit teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax balances.
Analyze temporary and permanent differences and track changes in deferred tax balances.
Support internal controls and documentation requirements for provision processes.
Assist with reconciliations, audit requests, and other ad hoc tax-related tasks during the year-end close cycle.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of tax provision reporting.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax provision preparation, with hands-on experience in both U.S. and Canadian corporate tax.
Strong understanding of IFRS tax accounting and reporting standards.
Experience with consolidated tax provision reporting and effective tax rate calculations.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage tight deadlines during the year-end close period.
