Seasonal Supervisor, White Water Walk




Under the general supervision of the Manager, White Water Walk and within established polices, procedures, and guidelines; supports a variety of managerial functions to meet or exceed the acceptable stands of the Niagara Parks Commission management by ensuring high levels of customer service are maintained as well as understanding, implementing, and adhering to sound business practices relating to retail and attractions.

Niagara Parks offers a salary of $63,727.53

to $76,13.23

per annum for this position as well as a comprehensive benefit and defined benefit pension plan.

QUALIFICATIONS



Education:



Community College Diploma in Business Administration. Completion of NPC Training Program; and/or equivalent knowledge and experience.

Experience:



A minimum of three (3) years' managerial experience, preferably in retail or tourism industries, and relevant communication and technical skills.

KEY ACTIVITIES



Finance & Administration



Participates in the preparation of revenue, expense, and capital budgets for the retail and attraction operations in co-operation with the site Manger, White Water Walk. Assists in managing and controlling operating expenses and purchases, including cost-saving initiatives, within the established budgets and in accordance with the approved Delegation of Authority. Monitors the daily financial performance against budgetary standards, making necessary recommendations as required. Participates in hiring decisions and administers recommendations from the Manager, White Water Walk related to scheduling, corrective action, staff development/coaching, training, succession planning, and employee relations. Prepares and delivers staff performance appraisals. Makes recommendations for the continuous improvement of exiting procedures, practices, and reporting methods.

Operations



Implements measures to monitor and ensure high levels of customer service and related standards are achieved for the retail and attraction operations. Ensures the employees, contractors, etc., are provided with the required training and are working in compliance with the Occupational Heath and Safety Act, Technical Standards and Safety Act, Canadian Food Inspection Agency Act, Corporate Policies and Procedures, and the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard. Supports the Manger, White Water Walk in the investigations, determination, and implementation for the best course of action to ensure prompt and efficient customer service regarding inquiries/complaints form employees/public/etc. Manages both unionized and non-unionized employees. Provides recommendations for the improvement and change of product lines, store merchandising (display optimization and appropriate quantities), and signage as required in co-operation within the Manager, White Water Walk to maximize revenue per square foot. Maintain a clean, orderly, and well-managed retail floor. Minimal stock area requires, efficient product storage and prompt display of incoming stock. Monitors and records data with respect to sales productivity/labour costs, inventory control/shrinkage, sales revenue, accident reports and payroll. Manage daily cash transactions for the retail and attraction operations including floats, billings, impress funds, daily changes orders, and cash audits. Manages functions related to the sale and delivery of tickets and packages to visitors, including inventory, time-ticketing, reservations, and POS troubleshooting. Ensure the attraction is safe and efficient while maximizing sales and profitability and enhancing the visitor experience. Assist the manager in maintaining and updating all safety and operational records for the retail and attraction. Assist in scheduling special events in co-operation with the site Manager, Marketing Team, and Group Sales. Acts in the capacity of the site Manager, White Water Walk as required in his or her absence.

Performs Other Related Duties



Assists in any aspect of the daily retail and attraction operations as required. Ensures the security and cleanliness of NPC assets and property. Promotes a positive & professional image of the Niagara Parks Commission. As assigned.
