Located within Innovation Place in Saskatoon, SK, and reporting to the nursery operations technicians, you will be involved with the harvest of nursery rows and tented seed productions.

What you will do:

  • Seed cleaning, seed treatment, and set-up of seeding envelopes
  • Operating small plot field equipment such as tractors and tillage tools
  • Driving a truck and trailer to move equipment between sites
  • Operating a small plot combine or swather
  • Hand harvesting of selfing bags and tented seed production
  • Fall land preparation, including application of herbicides and fertilizer
  • Equipment calibration and maintenance
  • Assisting technicians, agronomists, and plant breeders with other duties as required
  • Some travel may be required
What you will bring:
  • A valid Class 5 driver\'s license
  • Small plot field trial experience and/or agricultural or farm experience, an asset
  • Mechanical aptitude with farm machinery, an asset
