GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Cherry Creek Greenhouses is a dynamic floral greenhouse based in the Niagara Region and delivers annual flowers to several The Home Depot Garden Centers from Southwestern Ontario to Eastern Ontario and everywhere in between. The seasonal merchandiser will act as a field representative for Cherry Creek Greenhouses. The purpose of this position is to create and maintain great looking plant displays at The Home Depot locations and to provide outstanding and professional customer service as needed.

This job requires the merchandiser to perform physical tasks as well as maintain communication with store associates, other merchandisers and the Cherry Creek staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Be an ambassador for Cherry Creek Greenhouses Unload and maintain all products from Cherry Creek Greenhouses as needed Keep the displays at their most effective selling potential Maintain Plant Quality Maintain plan-o-gram integrity Replenish and add signage to displays Assist supervisors with administrative tasks including, but not limited to, reporting, physical inventory counts, etc. Keep accurate records of the progress, issues, and any information that might be used to better serve the customer. This information must be passed to the supervisor or manager Keep Garden Centre tidy Perform all work in a safe manner Know everything possible about our products and availability Be available to help customers

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

Communicate to your supervisor in a timely manner if any product is needed to ensure proper display and sell through of displays Work closely with your supervisor to acknowledge the delivery schedule for merchandising and the plants being delivered to better enable you to effectively set up displays Travel between stores (if required by Supervisor) Know the contact people at the Garden Center and gain their trust through your hard work and adaptability to the uniqueness of each place Use phone for reporting

QUALIFICATIONS:

Merchandising experience or Horticulture & plant knowledge is preferred Mature, responsible and demonstrates a willingness to learn Ability to lift 30 lbs Demonstrates the ability to work alone and accomplish multiple tasks Willingness to work flexible hours, including Saturdays and Holidays Detail orientated Strong attention to following safe work practices Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills Great team player Strong work ethic Have access to a personal mobile phone

CONDITIONS:

Seasonal position (Mid-April to Mid-July) Have CSA approved safety shoes (steel toe shoes) Walking, standing, bending, pushing and pulling This position reports to the Merchandising Supervisor Follow all the policies and procedures that the company has in place
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $18.15 per hour
