Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Laborer to join our team. supporting day-to-day field operations across various civil, utility, and fiber optic construction projects. This role involves performing physical labour tasks such as excavating, trenching, site preparation, material handling, backfilling, conduit installation, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Labourers work under the direction of the Site Lead or Foreman and assist skilled trades by providing tools, equipment, and general support to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, safety-conscious, and capable of working in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Assist with trenching, backfilling, and site preparation for civil and utility construction. Support installation of underground conduits, ducts, and fiber optic pathways. Perform manual excavation and digging around utilities while following safety protocols. Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment on the job site. Operate basic construction tools such as shovels, tampers, and saws. Assist in setting up and maintaining safe work zones, signage, and barricades. Support hydrovac and HDD crews with ground work and material handling. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free worksite. Follow instructions from the Site Lead, Foreman, and Project Manager. Comply with all company safety procedures, policies, and industry regulations. Report hazards, equipment issues, or unsafe conditions immediately. Work outdoors in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.

Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods Strong work ethic with attention to safety procedures and detail-oriented approach Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately Prior experience in construction, landscaping, or general labor is a plus but not required Reliable transportation and punctuality are essential for consistent attendance Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.60-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 44 per week
