TITLE: SEASONAL Ground Operations: Ramp Attendant REPORTS TO: Client Relations Base Manager (CRBM) and Assistant Client Relations Base Manager (ACRBM) SCHEDULE: April - May: Monday -Friday, 0800-1600. May Onwards: EITHER Monday- Friday 1200-2000 OR 4 on/4 off, 0700-1500. RATE: $23.11 to $27.04 an hour. START DATE: April 15, 2023 PURPOSE OF POSITION/MISSION STATEMENT: As part of the Alkan Air team, Ground Operations: Ramp Attendants will be expected to provide a customer focused environment, while critically thinking through fast-paced time sensitive situations as they arise. This role will mainly, but not exclusively consist of working alongside our customers and Flight Followers to schedule freight drops off and pick ups, ensure organization of all freight in Alkan\xe2\x80\x99s care and control, and operate both loaders and forklifts to accept and organize all freight. Ramp Attendants are expected to load freight for each flight, assist in fueling and moving aircraft as required, measure fuel and pris levels, and clean both the interior and exterior of all aircraft and vehicles. Additionally, Ramp Attendants are responsible for fielding all customer requests in relation to freight and are expected to track and record all freight efficiently and accurately. Lead Ramp will assign tasks such as care and maintenance of ground equipment, clearing snow during Winter months, and upkeep of the Alkan Air hangars, buildings, and yard as required. PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS: We are looking for a Ground Operations: Ramp Attendant who arrives to work in a timely manner and is reliable and dependable, has strong organizational and decision-making skills, is self motivated and driven, has a desire to be a part of a team and work interprofessional with other members of Alkan, ability to ask questions and willingness to learn, good spatial and situational awareness, ability to lift up to 70lbs, is 25 years or older to meet insurance requirements for vehicles and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively and lead by example. Job-Specific Duties: \xc2\xb7 Freight Management o Take direction from Lead Ramp on freight assignments and location o Receive and document freight, and ensure freight is well marked, weighed, and stored appropriately in the yard o Update and maintain freight information in company freight tracking system o Handle freight and customer belongings with care \xc2\xb7 Aircraft Preparation & Towing o Take direction from Ramp Lead on aircraft preparation o Ensure all aircraft are fueled and loaded to PIC specifications o When requested, dip and measure fuel tank, or prist levels and report these to Ramp Lead o Assist pilots in the loading of freight and passenger bags o Assist pilots in any reconfiguration of the aircraft required for operations o Marshalling (if required) and towing of aircraft o Ensure all aircraft are cleaned after each flight o Wash aircraft as required \xc2\xb7 Passenger/Client Relations o Track all client freight as per the freight tracking tool o Assist clients with luggage and belongings in a friendly and professional manner o Passenger pick up and drop offs as required \xc2\xb7 Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance o Take direction from Ramp Lead on ground equipment servicing needs to ensure all ground equipment are serviced and operational o Maintain adequate fuel levels and cleanliness of company vehicles o Wash vehicles at the carwash, vacuum and clean out the interior of all Alkan vehicles as need \xc2\xb7 Alkan Air o Take direction from Ramp Lead on property assigned tasks o Ensure small hangar is tidied/clean o Ensure Alkan Air yard is monitored, and upkeep as required o Ensure Alkan buildings are in good shape, completing maintenance tasks as need o Ensure there is always coverage for snow removal during the Winter operational months o Assist with tasks in all departments as requested ADDITIONAL DUTIES AS REQUIRED \xc2\xb7 Actively support the company Safety and Quality Management System (SQMS) \xc2\xb7 Workers may be required to complete short term assignments away from Whitehorse at a sub base, temporary base, or remote site \xc2\xb7 Ability to lift up to 70lbs \xc2\xb7 Any other related duties as assigned by Management/Supervisor HOW TO APPLY Please email your resume and cover letter to the listed email.
