Reporting to the Supervisor of Arena Operations, the Arena Seasonal Employees are responsible for the daily maintenance on the ice surface and arena area for use by the general public. Duties include but are not limited to operating the ice resurfacer and other equipment related to rink operations in a safe and efficient manner, general repairs and janitorial duties, set up of auditoriums, meeting rooms, and gymnasiums based on bookings, and communicating with program, facility and customer service staff to ensure safe, coordinated service delivery. Duties also include maintaining the grounds outside the facility including but not limited to garbage collection, weeding, grass cutting, snow shoveling and salting as required. Incumbents are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the facility and will comply with all health and safety practices as it relates to the work, standard operating guidelines and the Occupational Health & Safety Act. The hours of work are rescheduled in advance and include evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications



Successful completion of Grade 12 or the equivalent Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision Must possess working knowledge of power tools, snow blower, and power washer Able to work constructively in a team environment Knowledge of arena facility operations, electrical, plumbing and security are an asset A valid "G" Ontario rivers license in good standing is required Valid Standard First Aid Certificate with a Level "C" CPR must be submitted prior to commencing employment A current Police Clearance Certificate (dated within the last three months) from their local police service for approval by the Corporation must be submitted prior to commencing employment

WAGE/SALARY RANGE:

$21.19 to $21.19 per hour (based on a 40-hour work week)
