We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Cashier to join our team in a dynamic retail environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while efficiently handling transactions. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting. A background in grocery store operations or retail sales is preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process transactions accurately and efficiently Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly and addressing their inquiries Assist with product demonstrations and upselling techniques to enhance customer experience Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring merchandising standards are met Stock shelves as needed and assist with inventory management Supervise junior staff members when required, providing guidance and support Utilize basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and retail math calculations

Experience

Previous cashiering experience in a grocery store or retail environment is highly desirable Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on phone etiquette Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to better serve our diverse customer base Experience in merchandising, stocking, and retail sales will be considered an asset
