BEHAVIOUR THERAPY ASSISTANT

*Hours and number of weeks are pending Canada Summer Jobs Funding The Seasonal Behaviour Therapy Assistant works to enrich the quality of life for people who use the services of Christian Horizons. They work alongside the West District Behaviour Therapist (BT) and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support people who use the services of Christian Horizons by providing consultation, assisting with the development and implementation of behavioural programming, providing staff training, monitoring and revising behaviour programs, documenting and collecting data. The Seasonal Behaviour Therapy Assistant ensures that care plans meet health and safety standards for people who use the services of Christian Horizons in accordance with Ontario Regulation 299/10 Quality Assurance Measures. The successful applicant will be involved in assisting and facilitating Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), training employees in behaviour competencies and program implementation within the field of developmental services. The successful applicant will adhere to proper Health and Safety protocols in response to COVID-19 and will be provided the necessary direction and Personal Protective Equipment to do so. Requirements:
  • Funded through the 2023 Canada Summer Jobs Program, the successful candidate must be between the ages of 18 and 30 at the start of employment, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee, and legally entitled to work in Canada as per the Canada Summer jobs participant eligibility criteria.   • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Confirmation of COVID vaccination
  • Access to reliable transportation as work will be at the Mississauga Office location and within the Brampton area
Preferred:
  • Enrolled or Completed education in a Post-Secondary Degree in Behaviour Analysis, Behavioural Science, or Psychology, with some course work in Applied Behaviour Analysis
Our Hiring Process:
  • Resume and cover letter submitted, followed by completion of short screening survey
  • In-Person Interview with Talent Acquisition Manager and Behaviour Therapist including a comprehensive written assignment
  • 2nd Interview with Behaviour Therapist and 2nd Level Supervisor
