What You'll Do:

• Guide customers to the location of requested items.
• Receive and stock Garden Centre merchandise
• Suggest value-added and related products by actively listening to customer needs.
• Locate products in the store and warehouse.
• Respond to and handle customer inquiries, requests and concerns.
• Learn about new products on a regular basis.
• Ensure that your department is customer ready at all times.
• Identify low stock levels and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Work safely and report any observed or potential hazards immediately.
• Complete other tasks when required.

What You'll Need:

• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours, lifting and carrying items unassisted, using a ladder, twisting, turning, reaching. Merchandise items may vary in weight from ?light? to ?heavy?.
• Basic math and typing skills.
• Comfort in learning or experience with retail computer systems and tools.
• Ability to take direction and complete tasks in a team setting, or individually.
• Ability to adapt and cope with challenging and changing situations.
• Ability to consistently provide professional customer service.
• Strong belief in the Canadian Tire values of honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Positive attitude, punctuality and solid work ethic.

Successful candidates will be able to work a variable schedule, of evenings, weekends, and holidays. Working duties include use of retail equipment such as ladders, pallet jacks, and dollies. Frequent lifting of variably weighted merchandise is a regular part of the working duties.
