We're looking for a Search Specialist (Bilingual) - 12-Month Contract. The work location for this position is Burnaby, British Columbia, and is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.

The Opportunity:

The Search Department is an intricate level of the risk management for RBA and IronPlanet. RBA and IronPlanet guarantees that all buyers will purchase equipment that is free and clear of encumbrances. To achieve this, the Search Administrator role is key in mitigating risk and delivering on the guarantee. The Search Administrator works with Sales, Settlements (Seller Disbursement), and Legal (as needed) to ensure due diligence is done to identify and address any encumbrances. A Search Administrator has the authority to hold creditor and/or seller payment to make sure all requirements have been met to deliver equipment free and clear to the buyer. In this role, the Search Administrator also is tasked with delivering a high level of customer experience (internal and external). The administrator will also communicate and work with the seller and creditor(s) during the lien search process to gather needed information; obtain clarification and approvals as needed.

In this role you'll:

Review, verify and ensure accuracy of all contracts, legal documentation and search results in accordance with company policy, government regulations and SOX compliance.

Notify relevant creditors and actively participate in the negotiation and mediation between owners and creditors to arrive at a mutually agreeable settlement to allow the successful sale of the property.

Mitigate corporate risk by completing purchase and guarantee agreements including advancing funds and forwarding reports to required management for review and approval.

Proactively and effectively interact with the Sales and Operations teams, consignors and creditors and internal Settlements and Review teams.

Mitigate corporate risk by advising and mentoring sales and operations teams with assistance and communication from the Legal Department.

Review and process post-sale reports to ensure timely consignor payouts.

Review of all contracts and lien search results. Investigate and resolve all lien related issues independently and/or in collaboration with Field teams (Sales, Sales Support & Operations). Collaborate with Legal as needed.

Contact lienholders to obtain payouts and discharge documents.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders and departments to meet auction deadlines.

Here's what you bring:

Highschool Diploma or equivalent, minimum 2 - 4 years College Degree is preferred

2+ years' experience in contract, legal, administrative, or banking related roles.

Negotiating and problem resolution.

Previous experience in high volume related roles.

Ability to work independently.

Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

This job will require you to:

Making sound judgement calls on all consignment files.

Collaborating with Sales teams with clear objectives and resolutions when necessary

Liaison between all Seller Service departments and working with direct supervisor/managers with business line recommendations.

Ability to prioritize daily tasks and maintain high level of quality assurance in the review of files.

Negotiating with lienholders.

Investigation and resolution of any discrepancies with active, pending, deficient and complex files. Collaboration with all Customer Financial Operations and departments as deemed necessary.

Ability to escalate problematic files to direct supervisor/manager.
