Job Description

As a Seamstress/Tailor at UniformWorks Powered by Galls, you will be hands-on altering and providing exceptional customer service to our soldiers and airmen. You will ensure all measurements and fittings are done properly, accurately, and efficiently - so that they can wear that uniform proudly. At UniformWorks, we are P.R.O.U.D. to Serve, and it all starts on our Production and Value-Added Service Team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Read and accurately identify the customer's needs per the Work Instruction Document Take necessary measurements and mark garments for alterations with ability to problem solve individual sizing issues Perform uniform sewing, alternations, and embellishments with accuracy and efficiency to include taking up stride, lengthening/shortening tails on shirts, tapering shirts, adjusting waists, hemming trousers, mending tears, replacing zippers, applying patches, applying name strips, applying striping, and applying patches Operate industrial sewing machinery and meet production deadlines Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

High school diploma or GED equivalent required Two years or more of experience in related field required Entry to mid-level seamstress/alterations experience Well-versed on commercial/industrial sergers and computerized sewing equipment Ability to effectively read/receive work instructions in English Extremely detail-oriented and quality-focused Solid communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, bend, stretch, twist, and lift, with or without reasonable accommodation
