Seamstress

As a Seamstress, you will play a crucial role in providing quality alterations and repairs to our customers' garments. Your attention to detail, strong sewing skills, and ability to work with precision will ensure that each garment is tailored to perfection. Basic math skills are essential for taking accurate measurements and performing calculations. Here is what you will do as a Seamstress for Andrew's Formals Rentals and Retail

Perform alterations and repairs on garments according to customer specifications Take accurate measurements and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper fit Sew, stitch, and hem garments using appropriate techniques and equipment Replace buttons, zippers, and other fasteners as needed Maintain a clean and organized work area

Here is what we are looking for

3 - 5 years of sewing experience Ability to operate sewing machines and/or sew by hand Make made-to-measure garments according to customer specifications (includes take ins, let outs, shortens, lengthens, sewing hems, fixing tears, mending zippers, applying buttons and etc.) Ability to measure, alter, and repair garments on house quickly and accurately Experience with tuxedos and suits is desirable but not required Strong communication skills and good understanding of the English language (willing to work with candidates if the candidate's English isn't fluent). Eye for detail such as the ability to distinguish between colours Retail experience is an asset Technical design diploma or equivalent is an asset (life skills and sewing experience (especially in men's and/or women's apparel but preferred men's)
