Job Summary:
The SDS Administrator is responsible for tracking, organizing, and maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all finished goods, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements such as MoCRA and CNF. This role involves managing internal reporting tools, cleaning and categorizing SDS records, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain document integrity and accessibility. The position also offers opportunities to support SDS creation and revisions, contributing directly to product compliance and safety.

: Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

What you will do:
Phase 1: SDS Administration and Cataloging
Track the status of SDSs across all finished goods (FG) using internal reports and tools.
Request and interpret reports such as:
- All MOs run in 2024 & 2025 by line (to identify MoCRA & CNF relevance).
- All FG items, including status (closed/blocked)
- Run and consolidate Master Tecis List, including expired SDSs
- Create a comprehensive Master SDS List, documenting status of all products
Organize and clean the public SDS folder by client:
- Classify SDSs into categories
- Review/Revision Needed (2022 and prior)
- Obsolete/Archived (discontinued items)
- Identify and document missing SDSs and prioritize completion.
Phase 2: SDS Process Development & External Database Coordination
Contribute to drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation for SDS administration processes.
Support the creation of workflows for:
- SDS revision schedules (3-year cycles)
- Obsolescence tracking and document archival
Coordinate with Sales and Regulatory teams to ensure SDS accessibility:
- Upload current SDSs to the Empack Cloud system
- Support mass upload planning for CANUTEC for transportation
safety compliance.
Phase 3 (Optional - Development Role): SDS Creation Support
Based on performance and training progression:
Learn to clone and modify existing SDSs.
Assist in drafting new SDSs under supervision using established templates and regulatory guidelines.

What you will need:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with data reports
Basic understanding of SDSs and regulatory documentation is an asset
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to learn new systems and processes
Must Have:
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary co-op program in one of the following or related disciplines: Chemistry, Environmental Science, Regulatory Affairs, Health & Safety or Chemical Engineering
