Role Overview
The
Sales Development Manager (SDR Manager)
will lead and develop a team of Sales Development Representatives responsible for generating qualified leads and building pipeline for the sales organization. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring a strong leader who can coach, optimize performance, and align cross-functional efforts across Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Coaching
+ Hire, onboard, and mentor SDRs to exceed pipeline generation targets.
+ Conduct weekly 1:1s and team stand-ups to ensure clarity of goals and ongoing development.
+ Provide feedback on call recordings, email outreach, and objection handling.
Performance Management
+ Own daily, weekly, and monthly SDR activity and conversion metrics (calls, emails, meetings booked, opportunities created).
+ Monitor KPIs and implement performance improvement plans when necessary.
+ Conduct quarterly performance reviews with actionable insights.
Process Optimization
+ Drive adoption of sales tools (e.g., Salesforce, Outreach, Gong, ZoomInfo).
+ Refine outreach sequences and workflows to maximize efficiency.
+ Collaborate with Sales Engineering and AEs to improve lead quality and pipeline performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
+ Align with Marketing on campaign messaging and inbound lead follow-up.
+ Partner with Revenue Enablement to improve SDR training and sales plays.
+ Coordinate with Business Operations to maintain accurate dashboards and forecasts.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience managing SDR or inside sales teams in a SaaS or B2B tech environment.
Proven success in outbound sales motions as an SDR or AE.
Strong coaching and leadership skills with a collaborative mindset.
Deep understanding of pipeline metrics, lead funnel performance, and sales automation tools.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
