The Manulife Bank Continuous Delivery team is seeking a hard-working Scrum Master who genuinely enjoys delivering technology solutions. You should be proficient in Agile practices and Scrum events and should embody the core principles of agile development.

A successful candidate for this role must possess outstanding interpersonal communication, facilitation, organizational, and time management skills. You are self-directing with the ability to mobilize efforts through people & process, to achieve desired results and be collaborative in driving decisions. You must have the ability to coach the team for continuous improvement in the delivery of value to customers. In addition, you will lead the planning, monitoring, execution, and successful completion of initiatives while meeting the financial, delivery and quality expectations.

Responsibilities:

Lead and facilitate all the team level events (Backlog refinement, Planning, retrospectives etc.)

Coach and drive the teams to deliver the commitments.

Define and implement agile metrics to assess team performance, velocity, and quality, using data driven insights to enhance team productivity.

Collaborate with development teams to ensure technology standard processes are followed, maintaining code quality and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

Work with collaborators to establish and lead project budgets, track spend, maintain financial discipline, and provide insights for informed decision-making.

Collaborate with the Product owner, Release train engineer and other Portfolio partners to optimize resource allocation.

Identify and remove impediments and blockers via direct ownership, which prevents the teams from delivering their commitments, and to keep delivery on track.

Work closely with product owner/product manager to efficiently create, maintain, and refine the product backlog.

Foresee challenges teams will encounter and negotiate scope and commitments with other teams.

Understand business priorities to efficiently coordinate multiple streams of work in parallel.

Lead, track, and provide insight into squad progress, releases, risks, and initiatives health.

Drive relentless data driven continuous improvement to enable sustainable output and demonstrate progress toward committed actions.

Empower the team to self-organize within the guardrails of Manulife\xe2\x80\x99s new ways of working, while fostering healthy and engaging team environments

Collaborate with other roles, teams and partners for alignment, dependency management, consistent messaging and uncover difficulties and opportunities to accelerate delivery.

Promote staff liquidity to remove skill gaps and internal dependencies.

\xe2\x80\x8bQualifications:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in either business, technology, engineering, or equivalent experience.

4+ years of true Scrum master experience.

Proficiency in project budgeting and financial analysis.

Ability to lead and handle multiple agile teams across different mediums (In person, Remote, Hybrid).

Validated experience with Agile and scaling frameworks.

Experience working in the SAFe and Scrum master certified.

Solid experience and knowledge using Jira as a way for multiple teams to organize their work.

Solid project management skills.

Superb communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills.

Ability to impact and change team behaviors.

Demonstrable experience in coaching and maturing teams toward self-organization.

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location Waterloo, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between $72,450.00 CAD - $134,550.00 CAD
