Job Description


Job Title: Scrum Master

Location: Vancouver, BC - Canada - 100% Onsite

Duration: Long-term Contract

Visa: Canadian Citizenship or PR/Permanent Resident.

The candidate must be located in Canada.

:

Act as a Scrum Master to lead key initiatives to deliver project objectives for medium to large-sized agile projects.
Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, Sprint reviews, retrospectives, and demos with team and Product Owner/stakeholders.
Assist key business users (product owners) with backlog creation, grooming, and prioritization.
Identify and remove impediments to prevent distractions.
Maintain and publish agile metrics (e.g. velocity and burn-down).
Collaborate closely with the Product Owner and Stakeholders to facilitate release management across teams to coordinate release scheduling.
Maintain software release schedule and act as a liaison between teams to ensure proper communication.
Serve as a coach while empowering team self-organization and self-management.
Cultivate robust and sustainable working relationships between business and technology teams to foster a cross-functional team environment.
Promote and evangelize Agile across the organization.
Make recommendations for continuous improvement to enhance effectiveness.
Adhere to internal SDLC and review processes and standards.

Qualifications:

3-5 years of professional experience managing technology projects with cross-functional, matrix staff (including vendors) with high integration across multiple lines of business and technical discipline.
3-5 years minimum experience as a Scrum Master or Project Manager to manage Agile projects with Agile software development methodologies, specifically Scrum, Lean, or Kanban.
Experience in leading process improvement and/or change initiatives, especially as it relates to software development is a plus.
Proven ability as a servant leader able to lead and work with multiple diverse roles and personalities.
Self-motivated driver able to make progress despite obstacles and solve problems.
Strong time management skills and sense of timeliness in meeting commitments.
Ability to understand technical issues at a high level.
Demonstrated aptitude for acquiring knowledge and skills.
Ability to understand the key metrics to measure, observe and optimize.
Exceptional facilitative skills, must be able to lead and demonstrate value add principles with transparency (e.g. desire to bring disclosure and grow trust).
Excellent presentation and communication skills, both oral and written.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel a,nd PowerPoint.
Scrum Master or other agile certification is a plus.
Bachelor\'s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
