About the Position
: The successful candidate will be working as a member of the Project Management Office (PMO) supporting the Telematics, Automation, and Controls (TAC) team. This is a fast-moving, multi-disciplinary team deploying cutting-edge technology on mobile machines in the underground hard-rock mining industry.
Working primarily with the Prototype Vehicle Systems (PVS) Team, within the TAC team, the role will contribute to the design and support of our data ecosystem at MacLean and be responsible for the project management and agile implementation, facilitating the development of automated real-time processing for MacLean equipment's data. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to be at the center of a rapidly growing technology sector which is solving very real problems in underground mining.
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience in a scrum master role
Familiarity with software development or Electrical Design
Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement)
Good knowledge of other Agile frameworks (Crystal, XP etc.)
Excellent communication and servant leadership skills
Problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability
Outstanding organizational skills
Degree in Computer Science, Business, Electrical Engineering or similar field
Scrum master certification is a plus
Typical duties in this role will include:
Manage each project's scope and timeline
Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings and daily stand-ups
Coach team members in Agile frameworks
Facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration
Be the point of contact for external communications (e.g. Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Customer Support)
Work with product owners to handle backlogs and new requests
Resolve conflicts and remove obstacles that occur
Help teams implement changes effectively
Ensure deliverables are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint
Guide development teams to higher scrum maturity
Help build a productive environment where team members 'own' the product and enjoy working on it
Essential Qualifications
: The successful candidate must be willing to learn, open-minded and flexible, organized and detail oriented, team oriented, disciplined, and must have a positive attitude, along with the following qualifications:
Diploma or Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
3+ years of agile experience
Scrum/Agile Certification required
Proven experience with project management, agile methodologies, working with software and electrical designers
Proficient in MS Office Software (Microsoft DevOps, Word, Excel, Project, Sharepoint)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, proficiency in other languages is an asset
