About the Role






Shared Rides are a way to share costs among multiple passengers, leading to lower prices, fewer vehicle miles travelled and providing Uber with a low-cost product that is incremental. The Science team supports the Shared Rides product - through analysis, experimentation and model building. This is instrumental in designing the product (eg. what are the right tradeoffs), deciding on product strategy (eg. what is a sustainable discount), delivering the product (eg. building models for production) and analyzing impact (eg. through experiments). We are also responsible for providing the business with the state of truth through verified tables, metrics and dashboards.

Perform data analysis (eg. product and funnel analytics, customer segmentation, cohort analysis, churn/retention analysis, simulation based analysis) Build and maintain dashboards and metrics to bring data observability to a level of excellence Design experiments and analyze experimental results Actively influence and support product decision making by generating insights from data and crafting compelling narratives
- Basic Qualifications -


Bachelor's Degree in a Quantitative field with a basic understanding of statistics 2+ years experience performing high quality data analysis to support decision making Comfortable working with SQL and Python and able to pick up other tools quickly
- Preferred Qualifications -


Master's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, economics, mathematics, or engineering 3-4 years of experience performing high quality data analysis to support decision making and comfortable going from ambiguous questions all the way to insights that can be used to persuade stakeholders Deep understanding of multi-sided Marketplaces such as Uber and the interactions between the various parties is a big plus Previous experience building dashboards with Tableau is a plus Competency in a technical area such as machine learning, econometrics, optimization, causal inference etc. is a plus







For Canada-based roles: The base salary range for this role is CAD$136,000 per year - CAD$151,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
