Job Description

We are looking for a Scientist I to join our Science Data Translation team to support our Experiment Architect Application. You will report to the Science Translation Lead. The Science translation team works to help identify and address data and experience gaps, improve on product capabilities, and help design and validate innovative features. As a Scientist I, you will work with a cross functional team to provide scientific support for the development and improvement of ASCEND applications.

You Will:

• Draw from your scientific expertise to support the implementation and improvement of various Experiment Architect applications and data features.
• Support data quality initiative by assisting with audits of experimental data on the platform to improve data accuracy.
• Participate in QA of the platform to discover potential issues, and address reported user issues to ensure data quality and accuracy on the platform.
• Support the design team by providing scientific expertise to improve user experience.
• Participate in user experience research and support the evaluation and preparation of new projects as the need arises.

You Have:

• MSc or PhD in life sciences or related fields.
• A broad understanding of molecular biological techniques, use of biological reagents, and model systems.
• A proactive team player attitude and are able to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, experience in collaborating with software engineers would be an asset.
• Experience in working with large data sets and working with data processing tools such as Excel, SQL and Python/R.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to non-technical audiences.
