The candidates specialized in computational and medicinal chemistry will be working from our new facilities in Saint-Laurent, Montreal. NuChem provides integrated services to early drug discovery projects for our clients spanning from Medicinal Chemistry, Process Chemistry, ADME/PK, Biochemistry, Cell Biology and In Vivo Pharmacology, in the area of small molecule drug discovery. Visit www.nuchemsciences.com We are seeking a highly motivated entry-level computational scientist to join our established team working on a variety of programs with a particular focus on hit-finding, hit-to-lead development, and lead optimization. The highly qualified individual is expected to have experience in computational chemistry applied to drug discovery, medicinal chemistry and basic knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry. Key aspects of the role are being able to work within a team structure, apply computational tools to rationalize experimental results and propose new chemical designs. RESPONSIBILITIES: \xc2\xb7 Apply computational methods in structure- and ligand-based approaches for the design of small molecules inhibitors or modulators of target proteins with attention to desired drug-like and physicochemical properties; \xc2\xb7 Help synthetic organic chemists in the prioritization of proposed analogues; \xc2\xb7 Facilitate the creative iteration of ideas proposed by the candidate and the chemistry team while ensuring a positive and constructive feedback loop; \xc2\xb7 Communicate results to an audience of mixed expertise in a clear and concise manner; \xc2\xb7 Actively participate in scientific discussions with the team and the client; \xc2\xb7 Interaction with medicinal chemists, biologists, and DMPK colleagues to align strategies and approaches towards the goal of the program; \xc2\xb7 Keep abreast of relevant literature and maintain a high level of expertise in own field; \xc2\xb7 Work under the supervision of the Director or the Project Manager in order to achieve the objectives of the project in line with those of the client. REQUIREMENTS:

• PhD in organic and/or computational chemistry or MSc with several years of experience.
• Good knowledge of medicinal chemistry and drug discovery principles is an asset.
• A working knowledge of organic chemistry is required.
• Proven experience with molecular modeling software such as MOE (preferred) and Schr\xc3\xb6dinger is required.
• Proven experience with performing docking studies is required, along with a critical understanding of the applicability and limitation of computational tools and results.
• Experience with hit discovery and optimization is an asset.
• Bilingual an asset.
• Excellent written, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Proactive with strong interpersonal skills; able to thrive in a team-based environment.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and creatively problem solve.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Ability to communicate progress effectively with colleagues, managers, and clients both in written and verbal form.
• Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident or work permit).

• Faciliter l\'it\xc3\xa9ration cr\xc3\xa9ative des id\xc3\xa9es propos\xc3\xa9es par l\'\xc3\xa9quipe de scientifiques tout en assurant une boucle de r\xc3\xa9troaction positive et constructive ;

• Participer activement aux discussions scientifiques avec l\'\xc3\xa9quipe et le client ;

QUALIFICATIONS:

• PhD en chimie organique et/ou computationnelle ou MSc avec plusieurs ann\xc3\xa9es d\'exp\xc3\xa9rience;
• Une bonne connaissance de la chimie m\xc3\xa9dicinale et des principes de d\xc3\xa9couverte de m\xc3\xa9dicaments est un atout ;
• Une connaissance pratique de la chimie organique est requise ;
• Une exp\xc3\xa9rience av\xc3\xa9r\xc3\xa9e avec les logiciels de mod\xc3\xa9lisation mol\xc3\xa9culaire tels que MOE (de pr\xc3\xa9f\xc3\xa9rence) et Schr\xc3\xb6dinger est requise ;
• Une exp\xc3\xa9rience av\xc3\xa9r\xc3\xa9e dans la r\xc3\xa9alisation d\'\xc3\xa9tudes de docking est requise, ainsi qu\'une compr\xc3\xa9hension critique de l\'applicabilit\xc3\xa9 et des limites des outils de calcul et des r\xc3\xa9sultats ;
