Job Title: High School Math/ Science Teacher - OCT Status Required

We are seeking another dynamic and adaptable High School Teacher to join our expanding team, catering to grades 9-12.

OCT status is mandatory.

Teachables should be mathematics and science. Courses for 2024/2025 include

SNC1W, SNC2D, MEL3E, SPH3U.

Our specialized environments and smaller class sizes(max. 14) prove effective for students with various learning disabilities (with low level behavioural support needs), ADD/ADHD, anxiety and attention-based exceptionalities. Our school offers the Ministry of Ontario curriculum with engaging and hands-on approaches. Our mission is to provide each student with the support they deserve to enable them to reach their full academic potential.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate versatility, with experience spanning across grades 9-12. Your passion for inclusive education and ability to engage students with diverse needs will be integral to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

Provide effective classroom management and instruction according to Ministry standards Assistive Technology: Utilize and support students in the use of assistive technology tools and resources to enhance their learning experience (must be able to use a projector/google doc). Collaboration: Work collaboratively with school staff, including educational assistants and special education professionals, to address the individualized needs of students. Assessment & Frequent feedback Flexibility: Demonstrate adaptability by being prepared to teach required subjects and grade levels based on assignments. Behavior Management: Employ effective behavior management strategies to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere. Yard/Break Duties: Supervise and engage with students during recess and lunch breaks or help out with clubs

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 10 months

Pay: $38.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
