As a member of the Hudson College leadership team, the Principal serves as our Upper School day-to-day leader and manages all aspects of its pedagogical, educational, and administrative areas according to the guidelines of the Ontario Ministry of Education and the Board of Education of the school. The Principal leads in the advancement of better teaching, learning and student experience. The Principal sees the big picture and embodies the school\'s vision, mission, and values. The Principal understands to lead is to serve. They are empathetic, approachable, highly diplomatic, skilled in identifying problems and brainstorming solutions with teachers, good at planning and organizing and excellent at communication and presentation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Upper School and ensure school policies, regulations, and procedures are implemented, observed and further developed and that all students are supervised in a safe, welcoming, and caring learning environment
Ensure all programs comply with Ministry standards and that all Ministry requirements are met
Perform all duties associated with the school inspection
Develop exemplary relationships with students, staff, parents and the community
Develop curriculum, and promote a skills-based, interdisciplinary collaboration
Evaluate, support and improve teaching methods and instruction, provide professional guidance for teachers and ongoing professional development workshops for teachers
Manage student behaviour, social, emotional and academic concerns
Monitor student achievement, meet the unique needs of all learners, including students with a variety of special needs, and promote clear, consistently high expectations and standards that focus on successful educational outcomes for all students
Manage all extracurricular activities and programs
Provide supervision, evaluation of teachers and support staff
Maintain and direct the maintenance of records and files, ensure proper registration and transfer of students to and from the school, and maintain up-to-date student records (OSRs)
The successful candidate should also have:

Minimum three years of successful experience working in a leadership role in a private school in Ontario
