St. John's-Ravenscourt School

SJR is an independent, co-educational Kindergarten to Grade 12 university-preparatory day school that prepares students for university and the challenges of the world beyond. School Counsellor



St. John's-Ravenscourt School has an opening for a full-time School Counsellor position beginning in January 2026. Applicants should have experience teaching and counselling in a K-12 school setting. This position requires the ability to consult and collaborate with teachers, clinical services staff, administrators, and parents to support students' social and emotional well-being and development. Responsibilities also include the coordination of individual and small group wellness activities; development of behaviour plans and other care-related interventions.

Applicants for this position must hold a valid school counsellor certification in Manitoba or be eligible to obtain certification. Related professional learning will be considered an asset such as the completion of a Master of Arts degree in Counselling (or a related field) and/or certification as a Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Specialized training in trauma-informed care for students, Psychological First Aid, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, and Violent Threat Risk Assessment would be considered an asset.

Our faculty contribute to both curricular and co-curricular programming, supporting academics and school life opportunities for all students. Teachers receive competitive compensation and may apply for professional development funding. The candidate must hold a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate or be eligible to obtain one. Newly certified teachers are encouraged to apply.
