Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver with a clean record to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold a full class E or class B license and have a passion for providing safe and reliable transportation services to children aged 4 to 8. This role requires excellent communication skills, a commitment to customer service, and the ability to manage diverse groups of passengers. A background in commercial driving is preferred, along with experience in working with children.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a short bus (Chevrolet Express Van) to transport 16-19 children to our facility from 3 local schools. The bus will serve 3 schools located in a 3 km-radius and the trip should not exceed 20-30 minutes. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children during transit. Maintain a clean and organized bus environment. Assist passengers as needed, including helping children board and exit the bus safely. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.

Requirements

Valid commercial driver's license (class E or B) -- Air Brake endorsement is not mandatory. Experience working with children is highly desirable. Bilingual skills in French and English are a plus. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children. Basic mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshoot minor issues. Ability to teach safety protocols and guidelines to children as necessary.
