We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing safe and reliable transportation, particularly for children and seniors. This role requires excellent communication skills, a commitment to customer service, and the ability to maintain a positive environment while on the road. The Bus Driver will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all passengers while adhering to scheduled routes and times.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a bus along designated routes, ensuring timely arrivals and departures. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and mechanical soundness. Assist passengers, including children and seniors, in boarding and alighting from the bus. Maintain clear communication with dispatch regarding any delays or issues encountered during routes. Provide excellent customer service by addressing passenger inquiries and concerns in a friendly manner. Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and regulations while driving. Keep accurate records of passenger counts, route changes, and incidents as required. Foster a positive atmosphere on the bus by engaging with passengers through conversation or activities when appropriate.

Requirements

Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements. Experience working with children or in senior care settings is highly desirable. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred to effectively communicate with diverse populations. Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks is an advantage. Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively, demonstrating strong teaching skills when necessary. Must pass background checks as required by company policy.
