Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting passengers, including children and seniors, to their designated locations. This role requires excellent driving skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Bus Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers while adhering to scheduled routes and regulations.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a bus or paratransit vehicle according to established routes and schedules. Ensure the safety of passengers by following traffic laws and regulations. Assist passengers in boarding and disembarking the vehicle, especially those with mobility challenges. Maintain a clean and well-functioning vehicle by performing routine inspections and basic mechanical checks. Communicate effectively with passengers, providing information about routes, schedules, and any changes. Manage passenger behavior while on the bus to ensure a respectful and safe environment. Document any incidents or issues that arise during transit in accordance with company policies. Collaborate with dispatchers and other team members to ensure timely service delivery.

Skills

Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving is preferred. Strong command of the English language; bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus. Excellent communication skills for interacting with passengers of all ages, including children and seniors. Experience working with children or in childcare settings is beneficial. Knowledge of paratransit services is an advantage. Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks. Customer service skills to enhance passenger experience during transit. Ability to manage behavior effectively within the bus environment. Teaching or mentoring experience can be advantageous for engaging with younger passengers. Pay: $22.00-$23.00 per hour
