The

Coal Harbour Community Centre

is looking for a reliable, hardworking, energetic, and responsible individual to join the School Aged Care and Kinder Kids Occasional Care Staff team.

Qualifications:

Related work/volunteer experience with children, parents, and care-givers in a recreation setting School Age Training Course or equivalent (minimum of 20 hours clocked hours, e.g. Responsible Adult certificate, ECEA Certificate, ECE certificate, etc.) Ability to work in a diverse community Strong communication skills Valid Child Care First Aid Certificate Experience with Special Needs is an asset

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Escorting children to and from school to community centre Effectively communicating with fellow staff, school staff, parents, and children Educating parents/care-givers of proper procedures and protocol Ensuring safe supervision of children in the program Providing age-appropriate activities for participants (3-5-year-olds and 5-12-year-olds) Creating a fun & safe environment for all children Being a positive role model for children Being familiar with and following all licensing regulations

Conditions of Employment:

Clearance of a criminal record check Must have completed 20 hours School Age Training Course (or equivalent, e.g. Responsible Adult certificate, ECEA Certificate, ECE certificate, etc.) and able to provide a certificate Valid Child Care 1st Aid & CPR C certificate

Terms of Employment:

Work Hours (32 hours per week, up to 40):

Monday, Wednesday, Friday:

Morning (Not eligible for ECE-WE):

9:15 AM - 1:15 PM

Monday to Friday:

Afternoon (+ECE-WE):

2:15 PM - 6:15 PM Rate of Pay:

$22.7/hr

plus 4% in lieu of stats and 4% vacation paid out each cheque, plus ECE-WE if eligible)
